Um, this girl who is really English, and her Mum is this really weird, extreme person, and her Dad lives in St. Ive's away from her (that's in somewhere like Cornwall or something). It's just like all the embarrassing stuff that happens to her and it's so hilarious. And of course, her crushes.

That sounds like a really cute book! I just picked up Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants yesterday, I'm already on page 102!! I pretty much love it so far...

Totally! It is a really great book. And part of it is set in America!!! (Except for the part where Lena is in Greece). I'm on the epilogue, now. Almost done!! Does anyone know of any good historic fiction books? I have to read one for school.

we have to read historic fiction for school at the moment too!!! i dont really like it but i will normally read anything so its not that bad the book i've got is "witch child" its quite good its about this girl whos 14 i think and shes never met her parents before and she lives with her grandmother who is apparently a 'witch' (this book is set in tudor times btw when people thought witches were work of the devil or something anyway.....)these people find out that shes like a witch and they try to prove it so they drown her and she floats (which apparently use to prove if u were a witch or not) so then she was hung ssssooooo now Mary (thats her granddaughter) has like no one so she 'journeys' to america to try and find a new home but she is soon the victim of superstitions and suspicions that threaten to ensure she meets the same fate as her grandmother ok i copied most of that frm the blurb btw

TruBellezzan - Heeey, I read 'The Looking Glass Wars'. It was okay, but not written that well. Though I'll still read the next book in the series.

Okay, I know it's a bit late to join this topic, but if you like historical fiction (and I happen to) Ann Rinaldi is really good, and I also really liked the Killer Angels, although I've only met two other people who liked it. Ummm... Love Tamora Pierce, Love Harry Potter, and Stravaganza, of course. but people have already said those. Garth Nix is good (but someone's mentioned that too) ack, mine are all taken. Christopher Paolini isn't bad, but it gets a bit confusing *too many characters aah!* Phillip Pullman *thinks* Oh yeah, Redwall series (Brian Jacques) Love it, it's awesome!
