What? Corpse Bride? ...It's supposed to be based on a Russian folktale or something about how this girl ran off to get married but on killed on the side of the road waiting for the guy and she stayed there or whatever waiting for her true love..something to that effect. I saw it this weekend actuallly. It was pretty good..i luv Tim Burton's style but I thought the movie was a bit short and the characters could've been better developed...i agree that Nightware before Christmas was better...but this was pretty good too..

I didn't really like Corpse Bride. I mean, it was good and everything, the animation was great, but the movie in whole wasn't that wonderful. It was really like a love story.

I love corpse bride. a ton of my friend's are in love with the nightmare before christmas (i have never seen it. sad i know) so about 20-30 of us went to go see the first day it came out. it was soo awesome maggot was cool and so was emily and elizabeth. elizabeth was awesome. I also really liked the gone with the wind joke (great movie you guys should really see it) that was the part where the old lady is beating up the dead guys and one skelton says her name and she syas but you've been dead for (i don't remember how many years) and then he says "frankly my dear i don't give a d**m" and the n he kisses her. and the gone with the wind theme song was playinng in the background. it rocked. all my friends were laughing and i was like in totally shock that gwtw was in it. and then i was like Yes yes yes. it was soo cool. and today we have no school (parent teacher conferences) and a ton of my friends ( the same group as corpse bride) and i are gonna go see wallace and gromit. YAY!

I've only just seen Corpse Bride a few weekends ago, but I liked it a lot. Johnny Depp is even hilarious when his face isn't on screen- just the voice and actions of his character, Victor made me laugh. I liked the overall theme of the movie, especially the juxtaposition between the land of the dead and the land of the living. The land of the dead was so bright and colourful, whereas the land of the living was so dreary and boring. I think that was a really good way of portraying the two sides, and I think it came out really well on screen. Also, I was amazed by how much effort they put into the film. Even though it was a pretty low budget film, the animation was still very good, and the characters were brilliant. What really surprised me was that it was all shot with the stop motion technique. It must have took them ages- and even if you don't particularly like Tim Burton's style, I think you have to give him credit for that at least. My favourite characters were Victor and Emily, and I agree- the maggot was hilarious.
