Ok, me and guilietta were talking about Angels and Demons in a different thread, and we can talk properly now without worrying about going off topic ;D
I just bought the da Vinci Code, in the process of reading it...
And another thing y'all, this better not be another rosie/guilietta thread like eldest one is shaping up to be... ;D

Da Vinci Code is such a good book!!!! Angels and Demons is A LOT more graphic. And I think it's more violent. Da Vinci code has more riddles-more fun! I love it when they solve riddles. yep.

Yes it's wonderful so far it's very hard to take a break from reading it 2 post this. Angels and Demons is terrific 2. my teacher said she liked Angels and Demons better, but i can't compare until i finish the Da Vinci Code. Angels and Demons is and excellent book and I highly reccomend it *if* you aren't squeamish.

those are wonderful books. i love the idea of the sacred feminine or whatever; i'm catholic, and I've always had issues with all the men ruling everying... well u don't really have 2 be catholic 2 b annoyed with man's influence over women's in this world. until very recently, women were viewed as trash and possessions, and the theory stated in the Da Vinci Code about Constantine changing everything to suit his needs is truely a wonderful idea of how it actually ended up. the theory is that at first, all the so-called pagan religions were centered around women and mother earth and woman's ability to give life. and then Constantine decided to make it more of a mans world, and created christianity as we know it by making everything that women did wrong and men right. and that's where the idea of Eve being created from adam sprouted from-- man wanted to have credit for being the first to make life, when in fact it was the woman. and also, the idea of original sin (eve in the garden) was created to cast blame upon women. and that's the conclusion i drew from it, and why the church is so mad about it, because it was discrediting the bible. now where's anni? if u have read the Da Vinci Code anni, please please include a few of ur insightful posts. i'm not quite sure how much of the da vinci code was based on fact, but i like the idea Dan Brown presented.
congrats why?? i'm getting confused...

Hee hee..I luv the Robert Langdon books...sry about the eldest thread being only u and giuletta rosie but..lol..i haven't read it..so I can't really contribute. I have both Angels and Demons and Da Vinci COde though. I think both have a ton of similarities in the basic set up of the story. Like the daughters of ppl involved ending up with Langdon and stuff like that. That's kind of unorigianl of him but I like them both. I think i like angels and demons better but there was a ton of interesting stuff in Da Vinci Code. Like phi!! and..all that biblical stuff..it had more interesting history but angels and demons had a more interesting story..at least that's how i saw it....That and i luv Italy!!!!

Anyone own the big illustrated editions? I luv those..they're so cool yet expensive...i'll probably never buy one. I usually just go in shops and look at all the cool stuff mentioned in the book. Those illustrated ones were good ideas though, i don't think i pictured anything in the book right in my head...

I don't think I'd want to actually SEE Angels and demons. AS for the big illustrated versions-I don't look for them either.... Not quite sure I want to see dead bodies...

Ummm...first of all, the illustrated versions dont have anything to do with the characters. It's all about the places they go and the art. they're really good..it's not gross at all. it really gives you a better idea of what they're talkin about and you can check things that are mentioned stuff. So yea...
Also, the movie is on Da Vinci Code..i guess cus it's the more successful book. The next book in the series though is due out late next year or early 2007. It's called Soloman's Key i think...it has to do with King Soloman from the Bible. Sounds like it'll be good...
