This story is set in between COS and COF 'coz I haven't read COF yet!!!! I don't think it's been released in Australia yet! CURSES!!!! Jo looked at her watch. It was 9pm. She brushed her long, chocolate brown hair and fluffed her pillow, as was the nightly ritual. Sighing, she settled down to sleep...unaware that she had left the ring from the junk shop on her finger......and dreamed of adventure... ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Jo woke and heard violin music in the distance, and the warm sun shining on her face. She got up. 'Where am I?' she wondered. The violin music seemed louder. She stood up stiffly, and wondered where it was coming from. 'Strange,' she thought, 'It reminds me of....' Jo remembered the boy with the dark curls from orchestra, who played violin. She remembered wishing she could play like that, but the only instrument she could play was the drums, and they had no place in orchestra. "Aarr!" she gasped, when she saw what everyone was wearing. She looked down at herself and saw, to her embarressment, her pajamas and slippers. The violin music halted abruptly. Jo looked up and saw a boy staring at her. A boy with dark, curling hair. A boy she thought was dead. "Lucien?" she breathed. She swayed. Lucien stood up and steadied her. "Joanne??" "I went to your funeral you know," she mumbled, before fainting. No one noticed the silver-jaded ring slip off her finger. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Please tell me if you like it, and I will write some more. I probably should have gone into more detail in it anyway. Bye!

Ok, here's the edited version and the next bit. *************************************
Jo looked at her watch. It was 9pm. It had been a long day. First, she almost missed the bus to school, then there was that assembly....and then.... It was not in her nature to make impulse buys, but when she saw the silver-jade ring sitting in the velvet case in the junk shop, she knew she had to have it. After standing outside the window for what seemed like an age, Jo had drifted inside and bought it. It seemed to be calling her somehow..... She brushed her long, chocolate brown hair and fluffed her pillow, as was the nightly ritual. Sighing, she settled down to sleep...unaware that she had left the ring on her finger......and dreamed of adventure... ~ ~ ~ ~ ~
Jo woke and heard violin music in the distance, and the warm sun shining on her face. She stretched and yawned loudly, unconcerned. Then the calm, vague feeling of sleepiness began to wear off, and she began to wonder where she was. Jo stood up stiffly and gazed around. It was like a history book. Men and woman walked around before her in silk suits and flowing dresses. She looked down at herself, and to her embarrassment, found that she was clad in pajamas and slippers. Even worse, the yellow pajamas with ducks printed all over them. Jo looked up and saw a boy staring at her. A boy with dark, curling hair. Jo remembered him as the boy who played the violin in orchestra. She remembered wishing she could play like that, but the only instrument she could play was the drums, and they had no place in orchestra. He was a nice person, and was one of the few people that laughed at her jokes...and that was really saying something! Then, she found out that he was very ill, that he was dying, that he was..... The sweet, stringed notes stopped abruptly, and Jo shrank back into the shadows. 'Is this a dream? It's too real to be a dream! Maybe I should pinch myself like in the movies!' she thoought wildly. Jo rolled up her sleeve and pinched her arm. It hurt. 'Maybe I've gone crazy? No. Crazy people don't wonder if they're crazy....maybe they do....i don't know....' "Joanne?" the boy spoke. "Lucien?" she breathed, disbelievingly. She swayed, and fainted. No one noticed the silver-jade ring slip off her finger.

Here, as the title may suggest, is another bit. ************************************* Murmuring voices, hushed whispers, water boiling. Jo sat up, and instantly regretted it. As the room swam before her eyes, she heard a blurry voice telling her to 'take it easy.' "Who are you? Where am I?" she croaked. "I am Rodolfo, and you are in the Palace of Belezza, but, because of the currant circumstances, I do not think that helps much," a man with an educated voice replied. "Joanne?" a familiar voice asked. "Jo," Jo replied automatically, turning her head so she could see Lucien. She felt a little dizzy when she saw him, she was so used to him being....dead. "It seems that here I am Luciano," Lucien told her. "Here?" Jo asked slowly. "Were you holding something or wearing something...er...different when you went to sleep?" Luciano asked urgently, without bothering to answer her question. "Umm...a ring I think. I must have forgotten to take it off or something.....does it really matter? I am kind of confused right now," Jo told him. "What kind of ring?" Rodolfo pressed. "Umm...a silver one......" Jo said hesitantly. **************************************** Sorry my little ducklings, I have to go now, but I'll be back soon!

yeah, Duchessa, I'm staying as Athena. What does ne1 think of the glass idea that I had? Anyway, in reply to Alex's comment, I guess that's why there are only three Stravaganza books , otherwise the whole of Barnsbury Comprehensive would be let in on the Talia secret.

*hey* here's the bit I couldn't add last night coz the internet disconnected! ******************************************* Jo was beginning to panic. She was in a strange place, with a strange man and a boy she thought was dead whilst being asked questions about her jewellery. Very strange. "Look! I don't know who you think you are or what you think you're doing, but be quiet for a sec!" she shouted. Luciano and Rodolfo looked taken aback. Jo stood up and faced them. "I want some answers, now," she said firmly. "Look at the ground," Luciano said. "I'm not going t-" Jo stopped when she saw that, although the sun was shining brightly through the window of the strange room she was in, she cast no shadow. She gasped, and turned to Luciano. "How do we explain this?" Rodolfo wondered aloud in that same well-refined voice. "You are a Stravagante. A walker between worlds if you will. So am I, and Luciano here, and also some others. We use....talismans to travel to your world or in your case, this world, when we sleep. When we lose consciousness in one world, we wake up in another world, so long as we have our talisman. "But, you fainted, and didn't go back to your world, which means you don't have your talisman," Luciano explained. "You mean," Jo said slowly, "that I'm stuck here unless I find it???" Rodolfo nodded. Luciano looked at her with sorrow. Jo felt her world fall apart at the seams. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ baBaBAAAAA! oooh, the suspense! I know I haven't written that much though, just a few broken paragraphs , but plz bear with me! P.S. I like reviews....*hint*hint*wink*wink*nudge*nudge
