lol, yeah mi mum was a stage manager for fourteen years, it was the coolest thing!! She's met all these incredible people like alan bennet (a writing hero of mine) (except ian mckellen was kinda rude). Don't put ur mum's job down, nursing is way a good job. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox

I TOTALLY DISAGREE WITH IT BEING MADE INTO A MOVIE!!!! nowadays all the brilliant books that are made into movies are soooo bad (with the exeptions of LOTR and HP)!! i love it exactly the way it is and movies always change and ruin things

True...but if you got the right people to do it, it might come out really well...and even if everyone thought it was bad I'd still go and see it ;D

lol, i don't think it's so much to do with the cast, though i know that's important, it's the amount of stuff they change which bothers me... xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

well no one can stick to the book by trhe letter..some things in books just dont work on film..so you gotta get the new bits to fit in with the original story

I so agree with Luciano. It's like Ella Enchanted. It was a wonderful book! But when the movie came out it sort of ruined it... Nothing was the same except she had the gift of obediance... I think they ought to make it a film, but Mary has to watch the script writer like a HAWK!!!! lol. I think it'd be awesome to be an actress, I'm really good in Drama, but acting isn't my dream like most... I acually am stuck between a marinebiologist, or an Egypttologist. If the first suceeds, I shall stay here in Florida, but if the latter succeeds, I may or may not move to Britain... I love Egyptian stuff (almost all my history projects are on it), but I'm a wicked good swimmer and love marine animals (or any other furry, cuddly animal of that sort)... But my runner-up is definately acting, probably not movie acting unless some big director sees me somehow... but it's unlikely that'll happen... lol... Anyway, I fully support the movie idea, but Mary will definately need to watch them like a hawk... =)

actually, she could write it herslef! That's what louis sacher did for Holes and that movie hardly changed a thing. It was also, incidendly, quite as fabulous as the book! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox

How can you SAY it wouldn't be good as a film? I would be amazing! I can already imagine it and the music and the opening sequence and everything...i am sad.....but the only prob is that if they did make a film, i would probs h8 it coz it wouldn't be the film, u know what i mean? And WHOEVER played luciano would just not be write and WHOEVER played arianna would just not be right. *sighs*. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxo

Hm, I don't know... you see, there's a whole picture in your head of how the movie should be. But if the director has another picture, you're sure going to be disappointed.
On one hand, I'd love to see the books getting turned into a movie. I want to see how Bellezza looks, and Giglia, and Remora, and how Luciano and Arianna look, and Rodolfo, and all the other people... But on the other hand, I think it's better to just cherish the pictures I have in my mind and don't let them get disturbed.
(For example, Harry Potter. I was *so* disturbed by the boy who played him, that Daniel Radcliffe or something. He just can't act, and it blew my imagination of how Harry would be away. I've never liked the HPbooks as much as I had before I saw the movie, just because every time I imagined Harry, that stupid Daniel came up.)
