Okay this is my poem that has actually been published...thought i'd put a bit of my own work on this delightful forum ;D Celestial DanceLook up into starlight To see the legends blaze. The Hunter. The Sisters. The Great Beasts. Of myth lost and story regained. In darkness undimmed For eternal hour. They dance to the fiery suns Telling stories lost And myth regained Of history past gone Of history to come. Let them dance, free from chains Of myth and fable Of logic and knowledge Free to free will. Look up into starlight To see the legends blaze. Across the sky in forever dance. Before the watcher Himself redeemed.

Well, I read this ages ago and finally have replied to it.
I really do like this, it just seems to be right.
Telling stories lost And myth regained Of history past gone Of history to come.
That's got to be my favourite part.
Do put up another poem, I'd love to read it. HuntressDiana

cheers!..thought u might fins this one interesting.. The Poetry of PoetryA thousand words blooming A thousand rhymes dancing Touching heart and soul The pen that races In hasty scribble It inks the thoughts untold. What shall be born of these thoughts? What shall come of these words? What wisdom shall the poet write? What contemplations shall fill the empty night? Inspiration in its plenty form Burning for release Desiring to be freed What shall come of its beautiful dreams? A question everything An answer to all The poet's right The poet's birth Is to tell the truth untold.

i write stories b/c, as mentioned before, my poetry is quite bad. my most recent two are reeeeeeaaaaaallllllllllyyyyyy long. i think they're kinda dumb, but my friends tell me they're not. i'll be satisfied when i finsh them. i mean, they're fun, but they r maddening 2-- i have 2 write down every important little detail in a notebook just incase i make som kind of reference 2 it in the current chapter-- like character's last names and how many siblings a character has. i'm doing a story about softball and i even had to draw the bracket (a game schedule-- xcept brackets r actually brackets, and they connect teams and games and it's all really confusing and i don't know if i've got anything right on it. ) rosie

my tips: write down any odd inspirational spark that comes to you ..write character profiles so your characters are as flesh and blood to you as your own mother..helps with interpreting their moves therefore formulating the structure of the plot. ..and also keep writing hey i'm no expert..but i find these things helful

good idea about the profiles, i haven't thought about that-- btw i have a blue notebook that i write everything that has 2 do w/ my story-- my character im names, their birthdays, family trees, and in one case, ski race schedules (and results) and softball brackets...
good luck w/ ur stories.

i have numerous notepads stuffed with ideas - fantasy ideas. Just little fantasy ideas that may come in useful one day. thing is i have also altered my career prospects lately, striking off the film directing thing and i am now intent on becoming a <published> writer. Means my "quest for a university" must begin all over again what stories are you wrting Rosie?

good for u and good luck.
my stories have recently gone from made up worlds set in medievalish times 2 realistic fic. my fav is about 4 friends that met playing softball (in case u don't kno, softball is my number 1 obsession even over reading-- i play second base and shortstop) and then things start getting more complicated and it's just their story, kinda.
the other i think is really corny but everybody else loves it. go figure. it's about this secret society of people that r magically gifted (ex. Melody is gifted w/ music, Rhyme w/ poetry, Scarlett w/ fire, Ice w/ ice) and this non-gifted boy who's mother dissapeared discovers them. they go an a quest, he falls in luv.... la de da de da. basic corny adventure story. but i'm committed 2 finishing it b/c my friends won't let me dump it.
how about u?

all sorts of fantasy ideas..one at the moment being about fragments of an old demon being infused in humanity..and sends people in wild rages etc..cant say much about it as i need to refine the story but the protagonists are an interesting bundle
