Okay we are doing absolutely the coolest thing in art class this week. Guess what. Marbleizing!!! It is so cool-- you get this big, shallow tub and fill it with liquid starch. (It's really thick and goopy, and we make it by boiling powdered starch) Then you drip paint on in little dots, like this

o o o
o o o

Then you drip another color on it, (try to drip the colors on top of each other) then another-- until you've got a bunch of colors. Then you take the dropper and run it through each of the circles and it swirls really cool. Then you take a big sheet of paper (not computer paper, get a more natural sketching paper, the paint sticks better) and gently lay it on top of all the swirly paint. You let it sit for about 30 seconds, then you peel it off. The paint should stick to the paper. Then you gently pat it with a paper towel (pat; wiping smears the paint) until most of the sticky liquid starch is off and you only have the colors. It looks so cool.
