oh rite..and i have no title ..so..yea One dark, stormy night in Bellezza, while all the city’s citizens were already fast asleep, Luciano lay wide awake in bed, listening to the loud snoring coming from the room down the hall. He laughed to himself; Dottore Crinamorte and Aunt Leonora would definitely make money if they started their own snoring symphony. He could just see them playing at one of Arianna grand functions. Arianna…what was she doing now, he wondered. Since she had become Duchessa, Luciano had seen much less of her and they seldom had time to just sit down and have a real conversation anymore. He kind of missed it but then, he thought, he shouldn’t be selfish. She was the ruler of Bellezza and she was in charge of the whole city. The people needed her more than he did, so he never bothered to mention it. He sighed, turned on his side, and thought about it some more. This month, Arianna had been in Giglia, meeting with Duke Niccolo as once again they were trying to get Bellezza to surrender to the Di Chimici. She would be coming back again tomorrow and Luciano was anxious to go meet her. Best get some sleep then, he thought, and nodded off. His last thoughts were faint memories of his past life and his parents…
“Luciano!” a voice yelled from downstairs, “Wake up!” Luciano opened his eyes and groggily sat up in bed. He yawned and headed to the kitchen, he was starving and he knew that Rodolfo was down there waiting for him. As he walked in, he noticed breakfast was already on the table and Rodolfo was sitting on a nearby chair, obviously wanting to talk to him about something. “Good morning Luciano, you’re finally up, we were waiting for you,” Rodolfo said. “We?” wondered Luciano. Then all of a sudden Arianna burst out of the cupboard, “Luciano! I’m back! Did u miss me? The conferences were so boring in Giglia and the Duke was the worst of all! But the city was so beautiful with all the flowers in bloom at this time of the year, I’ll tell you all about it while you eat!” and she jumped up and hugged him. He hugged her back, glad that all went well on the journey and that they were going to get to talk finally…. except Rodolfo was still there. “Yes, I’m sure Arianna will give you a good account of events this past month so I’ll leave that to her. I just have a few things to do, I’ll be a couple of hours so I’ll leave you two,” he said. How did he always know? As he left, Arianna started on a detailed story of all that had happened during their stay in Giglia. As he ate he listened to her tale and watched her animate gestures as she mimicked the Duke and other extremely important yet boring Di Chimici family members. He smiled and laughed, typical Arianna just as ever. “So what’s been going on here while I’ve been gone? I’ve gotten updates on stuff I needed to know but what have you been up to?”
“Well…I did see Georgia and her boyfriend just left her so I’ve started hanging out with her lately…. and stuff…” he replied jokingly…he knew she would react to that. “What? How did she get here? You said she could never get to Bellezza within the time she had to stravagate while it was night in your old world!” she said, very shocked. He smiled, “I’m just joking Arianna, what were you afraid of?”
Rodolfo came back just as the idea of kissing her ran through his head and he was half glad, half disappointed as he longed to do it but if Rodolfo caught him, what would happen? Rodolfo then announced that he had important news concerning Luciano. The Dottore Crinamorte and himself had found a gap in the space/time continuum in which Luciano could use to get back to his old world and they wouldn’t know the difference. They also discovered that the cancer he had before could not come back after he had spent so much time with them in Talia so he could return to his world and time if he wished to do so. Rodolfo then pointed out that that could affect time after the point when he is miraculously cured like the fact that Falco now lived with his parents and the fact that he knew he was a stravagante at all. “What if I returned to my world now, at the present time there? Would that work?” asked Luciano. “I suppose it would but what about all those who believe you’re really dead in your world, Luciano? And there are records saying that you are in fact dead and buried, I suppose you could a assume another identity if you wished though,” replied Rodolfo after some thought. Luciano considered this for a while. He did miss his parents and his old world: the technology, the food and his old friends but what about what he had gained here? His new friends: Rodolfo, Dottore Crinamorte, Aunt Leonora, Silvia, Cesare and especially…Arianna. Could he leave them now that he’d lived in Talia for so long? Arianna interrupted his thoughts after a few moments and told him, “It’s a wonderful chance for you Luciano. You’ll be able to live in your world again… with your parents. If you really want to go you should. What if this gap doesn’t hold forever?” Luciano wished she hadn’t said that now. He could tell how much she was trying not to show that she would miss him if he went, even with that mask which made it so hard to figure out what she thought, but now he sort of felt that he had her blessing and maybe he should go back. They left shortly after that to return to the palazzo, Arianna leaving last after a quick hug and kiss on the cheek. Her last words were: “You should go if you want Luciano” before walking briskly out the door. Luciano watched the grand mandola glide across the cool water of the canal that reflected the beautiful sunset above. Rodolfo had told him that he should make up his mind soon, Arianna had been right in saying that they did not know how long this opportunity would last. Luciano then watched the mandola disappear, tenderly holding the white rose incased in resin tied around his neck, his ticket home… his talisman. oh well..umm..thats just a small part..but..yea...i think after reading COF that Arianna is waaaaay outta character..but i was kinda going for the side before the whole Duchessa thing...stil....

yay ;D .....*looks relieved* ..i've got a whole lot of it just waiting....im gonna make u guys wait tho ..alrite the next bit.... The following day at the palazzo was quite a hectic one. The young Duchessa had a lot to catch up on, even with the frequent reports during her absence. When she finally got a break for lunch near noon, Rodolfo came to meet her after his class with Luciano earlier that morning. “Why didn’t you tell me that there was a chance Luciano could return home?” she asked her father in the privacy of her room, “Do you think he will go?” “There’s no doubt that Luciano does miss his former life a bit and as for the chance of him returning, I didn’t tell you simply because we were never aware that this could happen, it’s a new discovery, you see. Do you think he’ll return home?” Rodolfo added with a smile. “I…I, I’m not sure…maybe he will. It’s up to him anyhow, it’s not like my opinion makes a difference,” she replied, not looking up at her father at all. “Perhaps it is your opinion that does make a difference to him. You are his oldest friend in this world so perhaps you should talk to him about it.” Arianna looked up in shock at this, “But I can’t tell him what to do! He should go if he really wants to.” “But is it his going that you really want?” replied a familiar voice from behind them…. exactly from the spot that contained a secret passage way from Rodolfo’s quarters. “Silvia!” they both exclaimed, “ It’s dangerous for you to be here!” They were both wondering how she had got the news of Luciano’s possible departure and were also quite shocked that she should risk the revealing of her secret once again, to be “near the action” as she called it. After some tea and pastries, Silvia had fully explained how she had gotten word of Luciano’s situation and had decided to come here. Apparently Rodolfo had given her one of his mirrors so they could communicate although they were quite far away from each other. She had used it to try to talk to him one day while they were in Giglia and saw him talking to the Dottore and heard about the gap in time and space. All of this rather intrigued her so she decided to get in her carriage and pass by Bellezza to see how things were going. “Silvia, you should go back to Padua people can recognize you here more easily than anywhere else in Talia most likely, especially in the palazzo,” begged Rodolfo, “We cannot risk that happening.” “Well I should be back in Padua very soon according to the good Dottore’s estimations. It seems as though this gap will last approximately a week and I should be quite safe where I intend to stay. Arianna, how would you like to visit Torrone for a bit? Perhaps tomorrow, just for the day and Luciano can come as well and I’m sure you’ll enjoy the fact that no guards can come with us seeing as your father is so afraid of me being recognized.”
Rodolfo did not look particularly pleased about this but Arianna on the other hand was ecstatic, she could hardly wait. A visit to Torrone, no guards, no Duchessa duties and a whole day, just Luciano and herself on the island where they could do whatever she pleased without everyone watching her all the time and expecting her to behave perfectly. “I shall have to tell the Senate that she has taken ill tomorrow then, we were supposed to have a conference but at this rate I don’t think there’s a chance of that happening. Shall we go to my quarters and tell Luciano then? It seems I’ve left my mirror there,” Rodolfo replied, no longer willing to try and convince anyone to do anything. Luciano had just returned home and finished eating dinner with Dottore Crinamorte and Aunt Leonora when Rodolfo told him about the outing the next day. He was just as excited as Arianna and agreed to meet them the following morning. He too was shocked that Silvia had come but was glad as without her unexpected arrival, there wouldn’t have been a trip at all especially one without guards…or masks. Everything would have been perfect for him at that moment had Rodolfo not reminded him of the decision he had to make and told him that he only had a week to decide. The morning of the trip, Luciano woke up very early, ate breakfast and quietly left the house whilst Aunt Leonora and the Dottore were still asleep. He got to the location that Arianna had specified for their departure right on time; it was an old fishing pier about fifteen minutes from the Grand Canal. It had been his idea for them to take his very own mandola since one of Arianna’s or Rodolfo’s might have easily been noticed. He had become quite an expert at sculling now after months of practice even though Arianna still teased him about being an amateur. Just as he was about to tie his mandola to the pier Arianna and Silvia arrived, both of them unmasked, and Luciano couldn’t help but stare at Arianna as though she was the goddess herself. Even after they both got in the boat and loaded Silvia’s things inside, he didn’t quite snap out of it until Arianna said “well…. let’s go!” “Right,” mumbled Luciano, sure she had noticed he was completely entranced by her. He started sculling toward Torrone as fast as he could, when they got there and could be alone, he seriously needed to talk to her about…this gap…and…. everything else that he’d never had the courage to say…except in his dreams. ok..i guess i kinda assumed no one would remember what she looked like without a mask...i mean..not that many ppl knew her rite?? ....i think i need to write another one post COF cus now i think it just doesnt fit ...

yeah i think they did know what she looked like - she was like the only child born on Torrone for 20 years or something until they found out she was duchessa. But no matter - the story's still so cool. Write some more. Soon. ;D

haha..ok..here's the next bit..... haha..ok..here's the next bit..... During the whole mandola ride Arianna could tell that Luciano was thinking very hard about something and she was pretty sure she knew what that something was. She sensed from the time that they'd gotten on the boat that Silvia had deliberately planned all of this, and very well indeed so that they could talk and she knew what about as well. She would have to tell Luciano about the fact that she really didn't want him to go at all but she just couldn't tell him that. This was probably his one and only chance to go back, to have a chance at his life... with his parents and friends and she just couldn't bear to have him stay here just because she was selfish enough to want him to. As soon as they got there, they walked to Arianna's foster parents'/aunt and uncle's house on Torrone. They were indeed extremely happy to see their foster daughter after so long. She hadn't been on the island for ages and neither had Silvia, whom they were very pleased to see as well. Silvia hadn't seen her sister in such a long time that they immediately sat down and started talking to no end after lunch. This was very convenient as while they were having this conversation Luciano and Arianna were shooed off to "go for a walk or something" which was the perfect opportunity to get out of there. They walked for a bit, not saying much, but as they got to a secluded area of the island they found a nice spot on a grassy hillside and both lay down and listened to the sea as the breeze ran through their hair until they both broke the awkward silence in an attempt to finally explain themselves to each other. "Arianna...uh...you go first," Luciano said quickly. "Well...we both know what we're talking about," she replied. "We do?" Luciano said half glad they she wanted to talk as well but then again, were they talking about the same thing? "Well...I supposed it was...about your leaving" "I don't have to leave...d-do you want me to? "I mean do you think I should?" Luciano said nervously. "I-I...um...I-it doesn't matter what I think," Arianna stammered, "it's a once in a life time chance for you to have things go back to the way they were in your old life." "Of course it matters what you think Arianna, it means the world to me...and me being here...with you...here, in Talia, escaping my fate in my old world, being alive still was a once in a life time chance...I don't know if I want it all to go away," Luciano replied, turning on his side to look her straight in the eye and he could tell she was almost crying. "Luciano...I-I couldn't bear for you to leave forever...but I know that you miss your old world, don't you? And I would never prevent you from going back if you could...and now that you can, y-you...you should," Arianna then looked away from him and lay on her back staring at the sky above. "Come here, Arianna," Luciano said gently, and she slowly rolled over and hugged him, the top of her head beneath his chin as he hugged her back. "I...I don't know what to do yet, I don't want to leave you, I could never do that but I'm going to figure it all out...I won't leave you." From the other side of the hill two women could be seen looking over at them and nodding their heads, obviously pleased. Everything was going as it should. Silvia and her sister, Valeria had been planning this ever since Silvia had heard about the possibility of Luciano returning home. Several packages of lace had been sent back and forth from Padua and Torrone in the past weeks and their plotting had been far from a waste of time on their part. Little did they know of the unknown presence in their midst although if they weren't so caught up in the excitement of the moment, Silvia might have guessed that there was someone else watching. Rodolfo grinned to himself while looking in his mirror from his quarters in Belleza, "You are not the only one who can play at this game of espionage, Silvia but assure that you are not having as much fun as I am watching this scene unfold," The apple doesn't fall far from the tree would be an appropriate saying at this moment, Rodolfo as his daughter did, had a feeling that Silvia was up to something and it didn't take long for the learned stravagante to unravel the mystery. He and Silvia had known about the young stravagante and their daughter: the magician's apprentice and the young Duchessa; the alien boy to this time and place and the Bellezan girl, only recently told the honest truth about herself. They were like two people two different galaxies yet it comes to pass that they should fall in love, even with the small odds. Rodolfo couldn't help but smile, he knew that this was bound to happen and was ready for what would follow. ok..well..thas it for now...aah..i might hafta actually start writing more soon..i'm running out of this stuff ... ok..well..thas it for now...aah..i might hafta actually start writing more soon..i'm running out of this stuff ...
