well i was absent for a period, that's y i don't rememeber. i think bush's thing on no child left behind is also kinda stupid. while younger generations get 2 learn 2 read at an earlier age, they also get fat at an early age. i think i read somewhere that part of the no child left behind (NCLF, just 2 make it easier) means cutting pysical education time too. i just look at all the stupid things he's done and wonder how people could vote for him as the supreme leader of our country. a superpower in the hands of an idiot.
o and the new nominee for the supreme court spot, that old lady? give me a break. she's not a judge, and all the major news programs say so!! she's been 2 law school. that's all. and they think she's going to pass as a supreme court judge? so that's 2 of bush's puppets in the supreme court now, and that other guy (forgot his name) nominated a while ago is 50 years old. that's young, if u think about it. so when bush is dead and gone we'll still have someone in like the year 2040 running things the way dear old georgie wanted them done. grr.

I totally agree about the no child left behind stuff. I mean come on bush needs to get a reality check because he wants all this education stuff and yet he's gicing no money to schools. where is his money going? to the middle east now don't get me wrong i'm not like anti military i just don't think we should be spending all our country's money on some other country that's just my opinion

I really don't like the fact that the court has a lifetime tenure, because if there's a bad justice but the government likes him/her, we're STUCK with him/her. It's sort of annoying. Also, I'm really mad about ANWR. Really, really, really mad.

o tell me about it! giving up a wildlife reserve 2 drill for oil! and all this giving money to other countries, we're not their mommies and daddies, we shouldn't have to take care of other countries. and bush nominating the family lawyer for that supreme court position? grr, tthat still makes me mad. and also (o heck i just remembered 2 use proper grammar!) the deal with the Iraqi constitution? We're forcing them to change their customs that have been present for the past like, 500 years because we are convinced that our way is the right way. Ethnocentrism is the word. I learned that in English today! But it means that someone thinks their race is superior to all others, and hello! That's Americans these days! Or at least Bush! **imitating bush** Ok, we just saved y'all from a dictator, now we're gonna change all your customs and make you do it just like we do!! Because America's way is the right way!! Or else.

Yeah, I really don't like how they're forcing a form of government on other countries. What if those countries don't LIKE our form of government? Heck, communists couldfeel the same way about democracy as we feel about communism!

Don't you hate it when people say "Well, since you're different from me, and whatever I do is right, what you're doing must be wrong!" I feel that that is exactly what Bush is doing. WARS have been started over things like this. "I'm better than you" or "My country's better than yours" or "My government is better than yours" or "My religion is better than yours," etc. I mean, people don't LIKE this stuff. It would serve Bush right if all his plans failed. Honestly, forcing a government on another country is like forcing a religion on another person.

Oh, and another thing, there is an excellent article, not really about bush-bashing but all the divided opinions and a lot of the topics we've discussed (abortion, gay marriages, religious freedom) in the November issue of Reader's Digest. It's called A Fractured America? and it's on page 123. It's a worthwhile read and I invite you all to go the the local supermarket, pick up a copy, and just read it.
Also, I am reading a very interesting, fictional book called Angels and Demons, or Demons and Angels, something like that, by Dan Brown. Recognize the name? Dan Brown wrote The di Vinci Code

arghh!! I clicked post reply and I meant to click something else!!
Anyways, Dan Brown wrote Angels and Demons, and it is a very, very interesting read (fictional). A bomb is planted underneath The Vatican City by a group of anti-church scientists that call themselves the Illumini. They also brutally murder 4 cardinals, and it's really cool how the protagonist tries to save the Vatican. Some of the subjects we discuss in this thread are briefly mentioned, and it gives a little of the churches view on things, aka Bushie's view, in a much better light. By the way, this is not a book for twelve-year-olds. It is a bit graphic.
I swear, Anni, I'm not getting off topic!

1 major point
State + church + merging = BAD for everyone involved. bad for church. bad for other churches. bad for state. bad for freedom.
He's undermining everything america stands for by pushing a very pro... I won't even call it christian, stance on everything. Its destroying the country.

That's true. Especially endorsing one religion-it makes other people angry. I'm fine with everyone thinking whatever they want to think, but what I don't like is when people say I should think like them. That's when I get very, very angry.

it's my nature to argue anything presented to me... and I truly admire (and feel contempt towards when it's actually happening) the people who accept stuff without arguing. But then there's the people that have absolutely no spine, and can't stand up for themselves... ;D

Sometimes I like people who can accept stuff, if they're accepting good stuff, but if they're accepting something that's completely unfair or bad... This is sort of like my last post ><

okay, who listened to the state of the union last night? i listened to if for about a minute and a half. I heard him refer to the iraqis as evil twice, talking about corruption. I also heard the phrase "evil empire." since when did the state of the union start sounding like a star wars?

p.s. we should rename this, 'bush bashing thread.'
