Thanks Duchessa. You didn't really think Sandro was Rosalina's twin did you? He's not really the type of character I had in mind. No offence to Sandro or anything.

yeah he can be a bit annoying sometimes - like when he jumped in the flood water and he couldn't swim. The little idiot. In the nicest possible way.

Yeah... soon. Be comforted by the fact that the longer I take the better it's gonna be... hopefully. In fact, I have just been busy. Sorry!

Actually, I have decided to do some now while my mum is out so she wont come back and hijack the computer to do some more of her work. *Yawn* Beware if I finish pratically mid-sentence - it is my mother throwing me off.
************ Rosalina woke up with a jump. She looked at the old clock in her room, but no, it was still in the middle of the night. She rolled over and thought about what happened after her story. Paolo had said that she had better stay at his house so she could be near if emergency occured. That was fine by her - and also by Cesare by the look on his face when he heard she would be staying near. He was nice. Rosalina smiled at her pillow. He was the only person who cheered her up at the moment with Alessandro gone... Alessandro. He'd gone and betrayed her, and everything Ambrosi had taught them. He turned to the Di Chimici. Uneasily, she fell asleep - only to relive in her dreams what had happened when she had gone to stop him...
Rosalina looked around - no one in sight, apart from a wide-eyed boy. He had on tourist's clothes and he looked foreign - he'd probably strayed from the square. Using her powers, she wiped his memory of her. Then she sent him back to the square. Rosalina turned and walked to the park. There weren't very many private or rural places in London, and Ambrosi had always taught them here in the park. Rosalina had slowly seen England develop. When she had first started stravagating it had been about 1700 in this world, but now it was the 21st century. It had been quite scary, any friends you made in one trip could be long dead in the next. Alessandro had met a Victorian girl... but then something happened and time jumped a hundred years and he never saw her again.
Rosalina approached the park and saw him. He was sitting against a tree, with his head in his hands. She approached quietly. "Alessandro..." He jumped up. "Rosalina!" He looked like he might hug her, then he seemed aware of the circumstances of which they met, and his arms dropped back to his sides. Rosalina bit her lip. He seemed uncomfortable and shifted from one foot to the other. "What are you doing here, Rosalina?" "What do you think? Trying to stop you going against everything Ambrosi taught us! Do you wish to bring the destruction of our world upon us?" "Of course not! That's not what I'm doing! I'm bring medicines and good things, and recipes and helpful science..." "and weapons that can kill many people. I know and so do you!" He looked uncomfortable, knowing she was right. He desperately searched his mind for something to back up his argument... and failed. He became angry and lashed out at her. "What do you know? You're just a stupid girl who doesn't know the oppurtunities out there! You could get in with a good family! But no, you just stand around helping "the brotherhood" lose their battles as they always do! No," he said, putting his hand up to stop her speaking, "I'm right. They couldn't prevent the massacre at the diChimici weddings, could they? Go away! Leave me alone..." Anger swelled inside her, though she knew she would cry later. "How dare you! How dare you lecture and insult me for doing what's right! What happened to the Alessandro I used to know? What have they done to you? Turned you into some cold-blooded monster!" He flinched at that. "You're just a sentimental fool who can't handle me knowing other people!" Rosalina couldn't help it - she reached out and slapped him hard. He recoiled, hand to his cheek. They stared at each other... Rosalina had just slapped her beloved twin brother. She turned and ran, even though he called after her. She knew he wouldn't change his mind.
The flashback dream ended and she woke again. Rosalina pulled back the covers and walked to the window, staring out into the blackness. Then she saw a flash of light. two... lanterns, swinging in the blackness. As they came closer she saw more... and then she saw the faces. She turned and screamed. "PAOLO!"

Thank you. My fanfic seems to have had a lot of views but not so many posts - could the people who look also post so I know what they think? It would really be helpful. Arianna walked through the garden, idly and distractedly running her hands through dangling vines as she went. It was the first time she had no royal duties in a long time, and she should be spending it with Luciano. But where was he? On some mission for Rodolfo in Remora. Rodolfo had stayed behind because of his duties to Bellezza and her. Luciano was staying in the Ram's horsemaster, Paolo's, house while he worked on the mission with Paolo and a new stravagante woman. Arianna wondered what the whole thing was about - Rodolfo wouldn't tell her. Arianna felt a pang of fear and twisted the shiny new ring on her fourth finger - was it safe for Luciano? Was it very dangerous? Were the Di Chimici involved? Why- "Arianna!" She turned and saw Rodolfo hurrying towards her, face pale. "What is it? What's wrong?" she said, urgently gripping his arm. "Arianna, my dear, I've had word from Remora!" Her face paled. He continued. "The house of Ram's horsemaster burnt down last night." Arianna felt everything tip and her sight went blurry. Rodolfo's voice filtered through her panic, she caught odd words of what he was saying "no bodies... still searching... no one knows why... still hope..." Arianna fell and felt Rodolfo's arms grip her before she hit the ground. "Let me take you to your chamber," he said, and guided her towards the palace. ******** "What happened!" Arianna heard her mother's voice, high and anxious. "The fire in Remora - the place where Luciano was staying." arianna stopped listening - she felt funny and wasn't really registering what was being said anyway. Groggily, she sat up. Her head throbbed and she wearily put her hand to her temple. What happened? she thought. Then she remembered. "Luciano! I've got to go to Remora! I've got to find him!" her voice rose, verging on hysteria. Both her parents turned to her. "I don't think that would be wise," said Rodolfo. "You're needed here!" said Sylvia. Arianna could see her parents' minds racing to think of ideas why she should stay. "You don't know where he is - if he's alive he'll get a message to you!" "What'll happen to Bellezza when you're gone?" "It may be dangerous!" "If you go away, how will you manage? You can't use a double - you don't wear a mask anymore!" Arianna put her hands to her ears. "I don't care, I don't care!" she cried, "Please, Luciano is obviously in trouble and I have to help him!" There was a silence while Rodolfo and Sylvia looked at each other. "Her mind seems to be made up..." said Sylvia. "I am going myself tomorrow." Rodolfo said. "I could supervise here. It's just... it's too dangerous for the duchessa of bellezza!" "But remember the risks you took! Still take, and for lesser reasons! He's my husband!" Arianna said, almost screaming in frustration. "We'll think about it." They said.
