It seems pretty young, yeah, but i suppose it's my cousins choice...... but only one of them got married - the sixteen year old. The others just have a daughter each. And now the sixteen year old's divorced. I think she's twenty-something......

Well, I'd rather be married at 16 than have a child... Don't get me wrong, I really like kids (& I babysit a lot) but I don't want one of my own yet!

alrite...well here's what a remember....
the main character is Alanna of Trebond but she's posing as a boy cus she convinced an old family..umm..i think it was someone in their service..Corum i think...rite? and she's pretending to be a boy to go and train as a squire to become a knight and this older boy Gary who is Duke Gareth's son (the training master) is helping her learn the ropes. she's going by the name of Alan there.
So yea..she gets woken up by Gary and he's disgustingly cheerful for that early and they go down to breakfast. Alanna hates breakfast and would probably have only taken an apple but Gary fills up her plate cus she'll need her strength..or something to that effect.
So they go to lesson..first is reading and writing but she already knows how (gary says u'd be surprised how many noblemen's sons dont kno how) so after the priest (a special kind..starts with an 'M' mithrian?? is that is? oh and they wear orange robes) tests her (she reads a page aloud and then writes it down) and is says she's literate, he gives her a poem to copy down and be prepared to report on the next day. She's like half done or something when the bell rings.
then she goes to mathematics and she tells gary she knows a little. the priest tests her then tells her she needs to learn algebra for things like building catapults and bridges and such and she's surprised cus she didnt kno that before. So then he gives her four problems for the next day and she starts complainin cus gary keeps tellin her all this work is to be done in her free time.
Gary tells her that is she needs help she should offer to help Alex with his extra chore duties cus he's so good at math. Alex says a few things aroudn there..including a bit about no having any free time at all. and i think gary says u dont realize something about the training until ur a noblemen or knight and u dont get proper free time until you die.
then they go to another class this one with Sir Miles ..of something i cant remember his full title..im allowed to forget sometimes! it begins with a "B" i think though. and he asks Alanna wat she's learnt and she says that you've bascially got to do what ur told and you dont get free time. and jonathan (the king's son..and heir i believe) asks if he's going to start on the code of chivalry. but he says no cus Duke Gareth says he does too much of that a not enuff history of Tortall and history of warfare like he's supposed to. then he says they're gonna talk about the wars of Bizhir but says it in a complicated way so Alanna's is puzzled so he explains.
oh wait..ok.. i think it mighta been before Sir miles..yea..but im too lazy to copy paste. she goes to like..manner classes of something..and she's like..she didnt kno that all of this bowing and such is included altho she was taught "please and thank you" so she gets lots of work and has to learn the harp "in her free time" after this is when she complains more and gary talks about all that stuff i mentioned before.
then in sir miles class the bell rings for lunch and they go off...oh and during the class alex mentions how sir miles is the court drunk..ok..sir miles class mighta been after lunch..wait. no...ok..how's that anyhow?
