And as for Harry Potter, I like the story... but j.k. rowling takes SO long to write the sequals... I'll probably be in line opening day to get it too... when does it come out in Britain?
Oh yah, and I forgot, I succesfully got another person into Stravaganza! My friend Jessica asked me for a good book and I suggested it for her... She read the second too, but I never got around to giving her the third... Too bad she dosn't have the internet, or I'd give her the addy for here... o well...

books are great, i dunno what i would do without them! I guess some people just are interested in other things or can't find a genre they like....But they don't know what they are missing out on.
I got into Stravaganza after my Sister read it and we have kind of the same taste and i thought it was really cool so yeah.....
About Harry Potter, well i for one love the series! I can see why some people wouldn't but the wait is worth it for each book (even though it takes forever). Its probably my favourite series though. I don't really like the movies though, they kind of wreck it for me , even though i do see them.

most of the people here seem to have fantasy as their favorite genre, and that makes me feel like i have to read more fantasy! well i really read everything, from historical fiction to horror to science fiction. as long as its good.
when i want to read something new, i usually look for recommendations, so i'm looking at previous posts with recommendations on them.
do you ppl look at recommendations too? or do you just pick up a book at the bookstore or library and read the summary to see if you think you'll like it?

I love books so much! I don't watch TV apart from the simpsons occasionally and dr who. I don't generally go for recommendations, I just go by what I like the look of. Or I get the shop assistant to pick stuff out for me. I read fourteen books last week. Proper length. I'm an addict......

Well, yeah, I read about four books in a day sometimes, but that depends how much I have on. It wasn't an equal amount every day, that fourteen books. But hey..... And you can't really be taught how to read fast.... either you can or you can't. It doesn't really make much difference, like I said to Alex, it's a bit of a useless talent....

I usually just go to the bookstore, pick up a book that sounds interesting, and if I like the synopsis, I'll buy it. If I don't, I'll still buy it to see how it is. I didn't like the COM synopsis, it sounded dull and confusing to me at first... but the day I got it I was desperate for something to read cause I was goin somewhere, and here I am now, lol. Sometimes I do go for recomendations though... I like fantasy, sci-fi, horror, thriller, (some) romance, and I like books about real-life situations with fictional charactors...

Hmm... Yes, that about covers it... *thinks* Yup. I think history is dull, or at least reading it for fun is. I like my history class @ school cause my teacher was awesome. I like lots of books...

o ok. i doodle and talk during history class instead of actually listen to the lecturing. -_-;
and i think of historical fiction like this: it's realistic fiction, but in a different time period.

Has anyone in here ever read The Outsiders? It is a wonderful book. It's, like, the only good book I've ever read that is set in America! Oh, and, no offense but OF COURSE it takes a while to write the Harry Potter books. They are really long. Which is good. I like power reading, but when I do it I always want more. That is how I got to this site, actually. I was doing a world-wide search and ended up here. Also I'm on a Harry Potter rpg. Is anyone else? (It is Hogwarts Your Way) I lost the URL... oops. Any other book suggestions?

Nope, what's the outsiders about? And I totally agree with you about the hp books. I mean, they have about six hundred pages + in them - it's not going to be written in like, six months. Come on.
